32 Years

Yesterday my parents celebrated their 32nd wedding anniversary! Although we had to pull out their wedding book to double check the date and the year I know they love each other a lot-32 years is a long time! I am so glad they got married because unless they had I would not be here, so go Mom and Dad! You're the real winners in this situation!

Fun fact: My mom and dad were married on April 26th, 1982. That day happened to be the worst snow storm of the year. They were married in the Idaho Falls Temple and it took people hours to get to their wedding because the snow was so bad...at the END of April! Just their luck right?

Jumping back In!

Ok, ok ok...I know I have neglected this blog for quite some time...embarrassing is not even the word to describe my humiliation! Nonetheless, I have now decided to jump back into the blogging world! 

The entire reason I started this blog was to document my life and hopefully let my future posterity know what I was like through the different stages of my life. I feel like that is a good goal and something that I am really passionate about, so here we are again! 

Alright, so here is my pathetic attempt to fill you in on the last 4 months or so of my life! 

January: 

-Moved into my adorable rental house with my good friend Brittany...met our roommates, we all clicked instantly! 

-Started student teaching and came to the realization that I was in a very different part of my life and it was not going to be easy! 

-Living only 45 minutes from the most adorable little boy on the planet meant a lot of trips to Salt Lake and lots of play dates! 

February: 

-Went to Time out for Women with Mom and sisters! 

-Went home to "babysit" Holli while Mom and Dad went out of town for the weekend...we made all our plans for summer! 

-Held weekly Bachelor nights in our apartment/house with friends from our ward

-Baby Camden said my name for the first time and he pointed to my picture whilst saying it...obviously I am his fav! 

March: 

-My birfday! :] 

-Made the decision to end my student teaching early because of legal issues BYU-Idaho was not following. Felt like Heavenly Father had a major role in this because I was really struggling with the people I was working with! 

-Came really close to my roommate Brittany! 

April:

-Moved home! 

-GRADUATED!! :]!!!!

-Currently job searching

-Loving life even though it is hard! 

So those are the major events I woulda, shoulda, coulda blogged about but chose not to and I am now kicking myself for it...nonetheless today I vow to be better at blogging, documenting and living life to the fullest! 

Last Semester Shenanigans

Well, I did it! I finished my last semester of school at BYU-Idaho! It is the sweetest feeling, and the greatest accomplishment I have made thus far in my 22 years of life! I will continue on to finish my degree student teaching in Ogden, Utah and I couldn't be more excited! I am living with a girl who was in my ward and she will be student teaching too! We are renting the cutest house right near Weber State University! I move in right after Christmas break...it is so crazy!! 

We celebrated Erica's birthday in Rexburg, and I took it upon myself to make her a birthday cake! I was pretty dang impressed! I made a red velvet cake from scratch frosting and all! I hope she felt loved and special! My mom came up and surprised her and took us out to lunch and gave Erica a FitBit for her birthday! I have loved being roommates with Erica! She is someone I can always be myself with because I know she is just as goofy as me! 

 

Thanksgiving Break could not have come at a more perfect time in the semester! I really just needed a break from life and time with my family and that is exactly what I did. My dad bought a couple new four-wheelers so we needed to break them in, we watched Santa Claus turn on the lights on the Rupert Square, took lots of pictures of Camden, played lots of board games, and ate way to much food! It was just the break I needed to make it through the last few weeks of school! 

So, since Erica and I are both student teaching next semester we both are technically "graduating." The school lets education majors choose when they want to walk, before or after student teaching, for students who won't be returning anywhere near Rexburg after student teaching. Erica chose to walk before so that our parents could make it to both of our graduations, I will walk in April. I will be officially done with college and **hopefully** have a job teaching! I can't believe I am at this point in my life; seems like just yesterday I was a little college freshman totally unsure of what I wanted to do with my life! It is so crazy how life goes, and I never would have planned for my life to go this way...but I am so thankful it did because now I couldn't imagine life any other way! 

Fall Semester 2015: AKA Last Semester of School!

Holy moly! I cannot believe I am actually writing that, I mean someone pinch me I must be dreaming. I technically do have one more semester of "school" because I have to student teach during the Winter semester...however this is my last semester as a student in Rexburg! And that is surely something to celebrate! This is also Erica's last semester and it is so fun to be here together doing our final things with each other! We are making memories that will last forever, and that makes me smile! 

Erica and I decided this semester was going to be on full of adventure! We vowed to do things we had never done in Rexburg before, and be willing to try new things! So far we have crossed two things off that list, and boy does it feel good! 

We started off our first weekend with what turned into a sisters trip at the cabin one last time! Our parents decided not to come and Kyle didn't come until late Saturday night so it was really just me and my sisters...something that hasn't happened in forever! It was so fun! We went on drives looking at the fall leaves, jammed out to Taylor Swift, went through Yellowstone, caught an IMAX movie, and watched the Boise State vs. BYU game! BSU BSU BSU! It was fun to have that time as sisters to just laugh and be ourselves, just like the good old days! Well, and Camden was there too...but we wouldn't have that any other way! 

Our second weekend up here Erica and I decided to hike R Mountain...something every college student here has done...except for me! I couldn't stand the fact that I was leaving Rexburg without climbing the infamous mountain! I'm not much of a hiker and this hike was pretty easy! So that is saying something, like grandma and grandpas were doing it! The hike was GORGEOUS however! We went at a perfect time, on an even more perfect day! The skies were blue, you could see for miles into the valley, and don't even get me started on the perfect Fall colors! It was simply perfection! 

Lastly, this weekend Erica had a mission reunion in SLC, it also happened to be LDS General Conference Both Erica and I had never been to Conference before so we decided to try and get tickets to go! We ended up with 3 tickets so I was able to invite my really good friend Laura to go with us, and let me tell ya: Watching conference in pajama's will most likely always be my favorite...but I will say witnessing a session in the same room as the Prophet of The Church was truly uplifting. I paid way more attention, got way more out of it, and just appreciated the messages way more! I was so thankful we got to go! This was also a very historic conference. Within the last 6 months we have lost 3 of the 12 apostles. The last time 3 at once passed away was over 100 years ago! To say I witnessed the call, and sustaining of 3 new apostles is amazing!  I felt so happy the entire weekend, conference just brings around the best spirit when it is embraced! We also, of course, ate at all of our favorite places: Zupas, Cravings Cupcakes, Swig, Zaxbys...just to name a few ;) It was definitely a great weekend...one I will never forget! 

Life is so good! One of my favorite talks from conference this weekend was President Monson's. He said something that was so profound that I haven't been able to forget. "Faith and doubt cannot exist in the same mind at the same time, for one will dispel the other" I have been pondering about that statement a lot and have come to a conclusion that faith can be compared to being happy. When we focus on our faith in our Savior and Heavenly Father, we will in turn be happy. When we focus on the doubt and the "what if" in situations we will be noticeably unhappy. I've decided to work on being more faith driven and less doubtful and pay attention more to what my thoughts are leading my attitude to be!
