School has been going great! I was pretty surprised when I came
back and got right back into the swing of things because I had been off of
school for about 9 months. But I was totally fine just jumping back in! I guess
that's just the school teacher in me!
So the day Erica and I moved to Rexburg this
sweet little boy was blessed! I didn't get any pictures of him on his blessing
day, but here is one that will just make your heart melt! I love this little
boy SO stinking much! I cannot imagine what it would be like to have my own
baby!
The first day of school was quite the adventure! We were woken up
at around 6:30 AM to the fire alarms going off. Confused and extremely tired,
Erica and I grabbed our coats and headed outside to find water gushing off of
the second floor balcony. It was freezing, we were tired, and very grumpy. Then
to add to the list of problems, the sprinkler system started going off on the
first floor...the floor Erica and I lived on. As soon as we noticed that Erica
and I ran inside and moved our computers, phones, and anything else that could
be ruined. Luckily the sprinklers never went off in the apartments only in the
lobby areas but unluckily the water from the second floor started running down
the walls and into our apartment. Luckily mine and Erica's room did not get a
lot of water damage, only a little bit. But our other roommates bedroom was
extremely flooded...it was terrible. Once they got the water turned off we were
able to go in our apartments and get ready as well as can be expected with
water all over the floor. The managers came and told us what happened, they
tested the fire alarms, on the coldest day of the year, and when the sprinklers
started to run the water froze inside of them. Fast forward two weeks the
weather was warmer resulting in water thawing and leaking through the sprinkler
system; resulting in it breaking a sprinkler and setting off the fire alarm.
Our apartment definitely got the brunt of it as we were pretty much forced out
of our apartment for the rest of the week, but it's ok because they paid us 50
bucks for each night we were out! So we basically had a huge roommate sleepover
in our conference room! It certainly could have been a lot worse but the
management was so good to us and made sure we were taken care of!
Life since then has been pretty boring. Erica
and I joke that we are married to school, which is kinda true when you're a
senior in college. However, we are having a lot of fun with the cutest baby boy
in the world! We babysit him every Monday, Wednesday and Friday so we are
getting to spend a lot of time with him and it is so fun!
Those smiles will melt anyone's heart, how can you not just want to kiss him all over?!?
Life is busy, really busy, but oh so good!!
