Home!

I love to be home! I really do! I was just looking forward to having a new experience this summer! But I guess it just wasn't meant to be because I ended up having to move home! I am excited and hopeful for a great summer...and so far it is off to a great start!

My grandma Stocking has some really good friends that she grew up with that still get together in Utah. One of her friends passed away so she asked my mom if she would drive her to the funeral in Salt Lake. I decided to go with them and my grandma found a ride with one of her other friends to the funeral. So my mom and I were able to go shopping! We are definitely the biggest shoppers in our family so we were so excited to shop all day and not have anyone complaining!

We went to City Creek Mall and were trying to find the elevator and this guy on a golf cart came up and asked if we wanted a ride right to our store. We were hesitant at first because let's be honest that is a little weird, but he assured us he had nothing to do and was eager to be helpful. We said sure and he was sure a friendly and chatty guy. I couldn't stop laughing at how funny he was. Thankfully my mom was there to talk with him, because he acted like he hadn't talked to anyone in ages.

We also got to go to my sister Shawna's class! She teaches 1st grade and they were so adorable. They each introduced themselves and then wanted to play heads up seven up. They thought it was hilarious when I had to sit in their tiny little chairs. They were so cute, but I sure am glad I am not going to teach that young of kids...they eat up your energy really fast!

It was a fun weekend and a great start to my summer!

Easter Weekend, Last Week of School!

Erica and I decided to go home for Easter weekend even though it was the week before finals. We weren't able to go home as often as usual because we had such a busy semester so we thought Easter weekend would be perfect. We didn't do much besides watch General Conference, and relax. Camden got to dye Easter eggs for the first time, and we each got a little Easter present courtesy of our wonderful Mother!

The last week of school was really bittersweet! I really tried to find a job so I could stay in Rexburg for the Summer, but jobs go SO fast in Rexburg and unless you know someone it is really hard to get a job so I had to sell my contract and move home. I had to say goodbye to my best buddy who I love so so so so much! I'm going to miss his sweet smile and little giggle. He is starting to babble and talk to you and I am so sad I am going to miss out on him growing up more!
I also said goodbye to one of my best friends this semester Laura! I could always count on her to give me a good laugh and help me through our treacherous Irish Lit. class. She is definitely one of my favorite people!

Blind for a Day!

So as an education major you are required to take a Special Education class that teaches you how to handle special need students in your classroom. It is a great class and a lot of it is based off of simulation activities. One day we did an activity where we were blind for the hour. We had to put on a mask, and glasses and all we had was a stick. I loved the activity and it certainly made me more thankful for my eyesight. But it was pretty challenging. We had to find our way to the elevator and meet our teacher in the lobby. Once we got to the lobby we linked arms and she lead us to a different building. We had to do all these tasks along the way like ask for help, find a drinking fountain and take a drink, and find our way back by ourselves just using a stick to guide us. Luckily I knew the path extremely well but the hardest thing was knowing what was coming up but not knowing where you were. Like I knew a big sign in the middle of the sidewalk was in our path but I had no idea how close I was to it so I didn't know when I had to move out of the way. It was definitely an experience I will never forget!

Anjelah Johnson!

Erica and I love to watch YouTube videos and discover funny comedians! Well one of our favorites is Anjelah Johnson! She is so funny and for my birthday Erica surprised me and got us tickets to go to her show in Salt Lake! I was so excited and it was so thoughtful and sweet of Erica to do that for me. She is definitely tied for best roommate award with Heidi!

We left to go to Shawna's on Friday night and got there late so we decided to just go to bed.

Saturday we spent the day with one of our Cousins, Lisa. We went to lunch, found an adorable cupcake shop, stopped at Swig and ate pretty good!
Saturday night Erica and I took the TRAK System to downtown Salt Lake. It was definitely an experience, you meet some pretty interesting people on the train but overall it was pretty fun.
We got to the Convention Center and the seats we sat in were TINY I mean there was not any room to move and it was pretty uncomfortable, but Anjelah was hilarious and made up for the uncomfortable seating.

It was a great trip and I was so thankful Erica got us the tickets. It was so thoughtful and it couldn't have come at a better time when school was just about to get REALLY busy!

Visit from Becca!

My heart was SO happy when I got a text from my best friend Becca that she was going to be visiting Rexburg! Becca and I lived together for a semester and we became best friends! I have some of my most favorite memories with Becca! She moved home for health reasons but she has a brother that lives in Rexburg that just had a baby so she came out to visit! It was definitely one of the biggest highlights of this semester!

Waffle Brownies!

So this semester I had a class called Irish Literature. It was a very interesting class with some very interesting people. One girl that was in that class turned out to be one of my best friends that semester, we just clicked on the first day and I know we will be lifelong friends!

Laura and I loved to have adventures! On one of our many adventures we decided to try out a Pinterest idea to make brownies in a waffle iron. It is suppose to be a lot faster and give fluffy and yummy brownies. Notice the key word SUPPOSE TO. We definitely laughed way to hard at our Pinterest Fail, but it made for a great memory and after you got past the crunch of the brownie it wasn't too bad. We added some ice-cream and it was pretty good!

I'm Feelin 22!

My birthday was not something I was looking forward to. I felt like all my "monumental" birthdays are over and "22" made me start to feel old; despite was Taylor Swift has to say. So when my family asked what I wanted I would honestly say I don't care, mainly because I didn't care. My birthday landed right before stressful projects were due for school, finals was right around the corner, and it just wasn't something I was interested in celebrating. However, thanks to my wonderful family they were sure to make me feel extra loved and spoiled...way more than I deserved!

Normally I go home for my birthday but because I had so much to do I just didn't have the time. My birthday happened to be on a Sunday so all weekend my birthday was the hot topic. ;]

Friday night Erica said she needed to go to Idaho Falls and pick something up for a teacher so I said I would go with her and maybe we could go to dinner. Little did I know my family had a little something sneaky up their sleeve. My parents drove to Idaho Falls and surprised me!! It was the best birthday present! We went to dinner at Olive Garden and my parents gave me my birthday present...a Fitbit! I love it! It was the best birthday surprise I have ever gotten!

Even though it was MY birthday celebration you can only imagine who got all the attention. It's ok I guess since he is pretty cute!

Awesome Olive Garden lighting!

Grandpa's mini-me!

Saturday I had to do homework and Heidi invited me to go to Idaho Falls with her friend to go shopping...you don't have to ask me twice to shop! So I went that afternoon and was able to find a new outfit to wear to church on Sunday!

Sunday (My Birthday) I went to church, got sung to by my roommates, and had an awesome dinner made my Heidi and Erica! They also made me a cake and sang to me. I got to hold Camden as much as I wanted and was really spoiled!

Even though I was initially a big party pooper it ended up being an awesome birthday because of my awesome family! I seriously come from the best!
